The name “Mariner” comes from the rich maritime history of Simon’s Town. Looking down from your balcony while staying at Mariner Guesthouse, you’ll see the yachts at False Bay Yacht Club, some kayaks or SUP’s going out, boats going fishing, snorkeling, whale watching or shark cage diving. Simon’s Town is also home to the South African Navy, so sometimes, you’ll even see a submarine or frigate quietly coming in or out of the harbour.

Mariner Guesthouse is architecturally designed with space, comfort and luxury in mind for it’s guests. The decor is a combination of classic and modern, with a light maritime touch.

The building extends over three levels with a double-volume lounge featuring brushed-leather couches, Oriental carpets and a stone fireplace. The dining area has large windows and flows onto a protected verandah where guests can enjoy a hearty breakfast!

With access through our garden-gate and steps down to the centre of town, our visitors can take a leisurely walk to the shops, local beaches or to one of Simon’s Town’s excellent restaurants, all situated within a 1km radius of the guesthouse.
