Making Waves Swim & Surf School
Swimming & Surfing
Making Waves Swim School has adopted the SAI curriculum of teaching methods which caters for babies to adults; beginners, stroke school, as well as children with cognitive and physical challenges.
The curriculum allows swimmers to develop at their own pace; each course contains age-appropriate activities that focus on developing core aquatic competencies that every person needs to learn in order to be proficient and safe in the water.
The core competencies provide the foundation that will enable students to develop correct swimming stroke techniques by progressing through a series of benchmark skills set out in the curriculum.
For each course, the level of skill development is identified by colour coding progressions. Swimmers move through the colour stages once the benchmark safety and swimming skill for the hat colour has been learnt. The swimmers' progress is plotted in their personal record book, which makes it easy for parents to see how their child is progressing.
Lessons are given in an indoor heated swimming pool, which allows us to swim in all weather and all seasons.
Lessons are offered throughout the week as well as Saturdays between 8 am and 3 pm to accommodate working parents.
You may enroll at any time and do not need to wait for a new month or term.
